Sweet Auburn Popcorn

Sweet Auburn Popcorn
I’m headed to do a craft show this weekend. It’s called the Calico Craft Fair and it’s been running for 14 years in a local school gymnasium. I decided it might be time for me to branch out and sell my spices to the public and not just my class attendees.
In the pursuit of that, I was toying with the idea of making this recipe to showcase my Sweet Auburn spice mix.
I invented the mix for the birth of my 2nd daughter, Auburn Grace. I was pregnant with her during the Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, Valentines and Easter holidays and I was doing a tremendous amount of baking. The baking inspired me to create a seasoning exclusively for sweets. It has sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and green cardamom. It’s basically a chai spice blend as I was inspired by India’s Tea Masala. I love it in all types of baking. Pumpkin pie, apple crisp, chocolate cake, cheesecake. Wherever it’s used, it adds flavour and intrigue to the palette.
This recipe for popcorn was born out of an idea to find a recipe to showcase its sweet and spicy flavour. I think it hits the spot and it is very easy to prepare. Enjoy!
